Calar del Río Mundo
The Tempranillo grapes that give flavor to this wine grow and ripen on the La Umbría plot, a stony volcanic terrain at an altitude of over 650m. It is a north-facing slope at the foot of a quartzite serrata, and the average age of the vines is 20 years.
The result: sweet and powerful tannins balanced with an exquisite freshness. A journey to the deepest flavours that will fill you with multiple sensations.
“Dark ruby red colour with a youthful purple hue. Fine nose blending some new oak, smoke, black truffle, dark plum and violet. Rich palate, full bodied with texture starting to soften, generous dark fruit notes with good length”
“Membrillo and cigar. Lots of oak spice, apricots and tamarind, cinnamon bark and souk dust, Black fruit. Moody and encased in a tight corset of notable tannins. Fierce, impressive wine that needs food”
“Black cherry and currant flavours mingle with smoky and loamy earth notes in this polished red. Well-integrated tannins balance firm acidity, giving way to floral and espresso details on the finish”
Made from 100% Tempranillo grapes grown on the La Loma plot, at an altitude of 650m, has a sandy loam terroir and its location provides optimal aeration, favoring the vines’ health.
The result: an intense but balanced wine, with a fruity character and the unmistakable aroma of our land.
" Medium to deep ruby red colour with a mature rim. The oak displays oak and butterscotch with sweet sloe berry and plum notes. Medium bodied palate with rather young fruitiness and tannin, fresh backbone and a spicy, quite long finish."
“Spicy, rounded nose. Lovely peppery lift through ipe, summer-strawberry fruit, melded and so, so fragrant with spices. Slim, firm tannins that are a little bit drying, but the freshness and zing and ruby-bright fruit more than compensates.”
